I took a pile of pictures this morning and found one common theme when I reviewed them: I look like I have no neck. This is an illusion, of course, mostly due to the scarf and whatever it is my shoulders are doing in the pictures. This picture seems to be the best of the bunch.
- White Tee (J.Jill)
- Grey Cardigan (Kohls, a christmas present from my sister-in-law)
- Black Pants (Lane Bryant)
- Scarf (Kohls)
- Necklace (Eloquii)
- Shoes (Naot Retro)
These shoes are the last pair of closed-toed shoes that I am going to buy for this season. I wasn’t even going to buy these, but I was wearing those Josef Seibels a LOT, they are kind of dull, and I was wearing them out. I felt like I needed more variety and choices when it came to black work shoes. I saw these at a local store, but they didn’t have my size in the black, so I just ordered them from Zappos. They are too cute for words.
For me the most important thing these days in shoes is arch support. Naot does a terrific job in that respect, and is getting better all the time at making the shoes cute as well. I was a little worried because the brand can run a smidge narrow, but these were perfect.
In retrospect I don’t think this outfit worked as well as I wanted. Because these pants are tapered to the ankle and only just long enought I feel like they are doing strange things. Black trousers would have been a better choice. However these are the paisley coated pants I got in december, and are CRAZY comfortable. Like “yoga pants” comfortable. They also are fairly trendy and somewhat season specific, so I wanted to wear them NOW while they still look appropriate.
This week I have to travel for work, so once my husband gets going this morning I plan to start figuring out outfits to pack. I will probably take pictures of each outfit here at home rather than worrying about it on the road. [Then I don’t need to bring my camera on the trip.] The hardest part about that is that it appears the east coast (north carolina, virginia) have our weather right now; it’s in the 70s there, while today it hasn’t broken 40 yet here. It was in the 20s last night. In arizona. That almost NEVER happens. It’s taking forever for our heater to get the temperature in the house up to a reasonable level. I’m currently sitting next to a space heater, all bundled up, and my hands are still cold. Worse, apparently I will be arriving in North Carolina at the same time as this weather; predictions all say cold and rainy while I am there. Good thing I own one winter coat. I’ll grab pictures of that too….
